On 14 September 2017 our Hunter Records Storage business was purchased by ZircoDATA. ZircoDATA is one of Australia’s largest records management companies and the corporation’s purchase of Hunter Records Storage marked itsfirst entry into the regional New South Wales market.
Sale of the business was a major landmark in the development of Hunter Councils and in our pending repositioning as a Joint Organisation within the NSW Local Government Act. It was also a major step forward for ZircoDATA as evidenced by the following media release extract:
“We are delighted to welcome the customers of Hunter Records Storage to ZircoDATA and to continue the great track record of service excellence in Newcastle and the Hunter Region”, explained Daniel Warren-Smith, Chief Commercial Officer, ZircoDATA.
“The Thornton facility is our 19th across Australia, and our first in regional New South Wales. This will be a springboard for us to grow our business in the Hunter Valley and throughout New South Wales.”
Nicholas Kwan, Chief Financial Officer, ZircoDATA added, “The expansion of ZircoDATA’s footprint into regional centres, like Newcastle, is pivotal to working alongside clients in major business centres around Australia.
“Entering this new market enables us to increase our client reach into regional NSW and also provide the opportunity for our new clients to benefit from our offerings and expertise in Records and Information Management. “
