In 2017 Tourism Hunter (TH) and the Hunter Joint Organisation of Councils (JO) asked JT Strategic Solutions and Events (JTSSE) to develop a major events strategy for the Hunter. Four main objectives were set:

  1. Educate Hunter region stakeholders on the world of major events
  2. Grow the region’s events program and profile
  3. Assess the current state of regional events and event infrastructure
  4. Compare event developments in other major regional centres

The report on the strategy was delivered to the Boards of Tourism Hunter and the Hunter Joint Organisation of Councils in December 2017.

In February 2018 JTSSE was asked to work with the JO on a project to implement the strategy.
